Camesa was founded in 1957. Currently has four production facilities: Cuautitlan and Vallejo, located in Mexico City metropolitan area, Rosenberg in Texas, U.S., and Lima, Peru. This division designs, manufactures, and commercializes mechanical wire rope, electromechanical cable, and high carbon steel-wire rope. Camesa's wire rope is used in several industries: mining, fishing, oil, and electric power transmission. It is also employed in mobile and tower cranes, power shovels and drags, traveling derricks, and elevators. The electromechanical cable, has special electrical and mechanical properties and it is mainly used to register environmental and geological conditions in drilling and preparing oil wells. The wire rope is produced at the Vallejo and Rosenberg plants.
