Çelik Halat ve Tel Sanayii A.S. was founded in 1962 as a joint private sector - state venture. The shares of the company have been publicly traded in the Istanbul Stock Exchange since 1987. In September 1997, the Dogan Group acquired the majority shares of the company. Çelik Halat ve Tel Sanayii A.S. is the industry leader by a wide margin in its sector. The company manufactures steel wire products and steel wire rope. Sold in domestic and international markets these products are used in a wide range of areas like fishing, mining, construction, automotive, telecommunication and energy. Products are; galvanized wire, spring wire, single strand, bead wire, pre-stressed concrete wire and strand and steel wire rope.
